Make this tote bag for the little trick-or-treater in your life to use on October 31. It uses Kreinik's fun glow-in-the-dark threads.
Glow-in-the-dark threads will glow when exposed to direct light. However, they should not be relied upon for safety-rated reflective material. Instead, have your child wear reflectors, a flashlight, or similar safety device to make the child visible to drivers at night.
Materials needed:
- Kreinik 1/8" Ribbon in 054F Lemon-Lime (21 yards), 051F Tangerine (21 yards), and 052F Grapefruit (11 yards)
- Kreinik Medium (#16) Braid in 053F Lime (3 yards)
- 3 sheets 7-count black plastic canvas
- 1/2 sheet 7-count clear plastic canvas
- 21.5 yards black plastic canvas yarn
- hot glue gun recommended by the designer for attaching letters and spider

Bunny Plastic Canvas Coasters

Skill Level: BeginnerNeed some quick decorations for an Easter party, spring birthday party, or even a women's tea party? You can make these coasters in a jiffy - stitch as many as you need!
Materials needed:
- 10-count plastic canvas
- DMC embroidery floss as listed in color key
- Kreinik Very Fine #4 Braid as listed in color key
- embroidery needle, scissors, white flexi-foam, craft glue
Directions:
Cut rectangles of plastic canvas, each 38 threads by 49 thread. Follow the chart and use full 6-strands of floss for all cross stitches and Hungarian stitches. Use Very Fine #4 Braid doubled in the needle for all cross stitches using metallic threads. Work bunnies first. When each bunny is complete, add straight-stitch totes. Fill in background with Hungarian Stitches.
Finishing:
Trim canvas edges smooth. Finish edges with whip or overcast stitches. Trim off excess floss thread. Optional: cut pieces of foam each slightly smaller than coasters. glue foam backing to wrong side of each coaster.

Medium #16 Braid Glow-In-The-Dark
This round thread is our mid-size in the Braid line. The glow-in-the-dark colors are 80% polyester/20% nylon. It can make glowing stars, moons, planets, windows, street lamps, animal eyes and more.
TOP TIPS: The glow-in-the-dark colors are slightly stiff, so we suggest:
- Use shorter lengths (like 18 inches not 24 inches)
- Go up a needle size—for instance, if you usually use a #24 Tapestry Needle, use a larger #22 Tapestry Needle, as this will help the thread pass more easily through your fabric.
- Stroke it gently with a slightly damp cosmetic sponge, as this will help the thread relax

Heavy #32 Braid Glow-In-The-Dark
This is our thickest Braid, a round thread approximately 1.5mm in diameter. The glow-in-the-dark colors (has "F" in color number) are 80% polyester, 20% nylon. This Braid is great for crafts, making cording, string art, plastic canvas, and stitching on large mesh screens or canvases. It can make glowing stars, moons, planets, windows, street lamps, animal eyes and more.
TOP TIPS: The glow-in-the-dark colors are slightly stiff, so we suggest:
- Use shorter lengths (like 18 inches not 24 inches)
- Go up a needle size—for instance, if you usually use a #24 Tapestry Needle, use a larger #22 Tapestry Needle, as this will help the thread pass more easily through your fabric.
- Stroke it gently with a slightly damp cosmetic sponge, as this will help the thread relax
- Bright, bold Hi Lustre colors (has "HL" in color number), 62% polyester, 38% nylFun
- Classic, standard Basic colors (no letters in color number), 65% polyester, 35% nylon

Flat, braided ribbon in 1/8" width. Glow-in-the-dark colors are 80% polyester/20% nylon. This size is ideal for embroidery, specialty stitches in needlepoint, cord making, weaving, string art, plastic canvas stitching and more.
