The coating on the handles is for comfort and good looks. The blades are carbon steel and as precise in cutting as you can get. Gorgeous and quality.

Premax scissors are made in Italy by the Premana companies. It’s a trade they’ve been perfecting since for 300 years, when the first miners extracted the metal, cast it, forged it, worked it to make tools, scissors, and knives. Their products are valuable in quality, beautiful in appearance, and are a dream to use.

Choose serrated (provides a cleaner cut on metallic threads) or non-serrated blades. 

  • Serrated blades have a sawtooth, dentate or toothed blade. They are ideal for cutting through textured materials like metallic threads. Less friction during the cutting action means a cleaner cut on the fibers.
  • Non-serrated blades have a straight-edge, smooth blade and are better for silk or cotton floss or cutting smooth fabrics or materials.

Note: November 2023 we are out of stock of the serrated blade version.
