How to do it:

It’s basically a group of straight stitches laid very close together. You can do it vertically, horizontally, or diagonally for different effects. Lay your thread smoothly and neatly, using your needle, your finger, or a laying tool to keep the thread flat. Uniform tension is important too, so one stitch isn’t pulling more than any other in your row or section.
