English Bouquet Embroidery Pattern

English Bouquet
- Designed by Sharon Coxhead
Sharon shares this design with us out of her love for embroidery on fabric. She found the Silk Mori to be a beautiful thread for designing this type of needlework. Use this as a stand-alone embroidery, or as an embroidery on a crazy quilt.
Materials needed:
- A piece of fabric of your choice approximately 9 inches by 9 inches. I used Dupion silk and put some waste fabric on the back, thus sewing through both pieces of fabric to stop any puckering on the stitching.
- Silk Mori for bullion roses: 0323, 0324, and 0325. For the rose stems and leaves, use Silk Mori 4037. For the daisy’s middles use 2027 and for the petals use 2024. For the daisy’s stems use 4034. For the bow use 0303 and 9032. (all Silk Mori colors)
- Kreinik Very Fine (#4) Braid 092 Star Pink for edging the bow and highlighting.
- A milliners/straw needle for bullion knots and French knots. A sharp embroidery needle with a suitable size of eye to allow 2 single strands together of Silk Mori to pass through for all other stitches.

Iron-On Stocking
Designed by: Nancy Billetdeaux
Skill Level: IntermediateThis is a fun way to make a quick fabric ornament that looks like it was crazy quilted. You can take it a step further and make it a ‘signature’ ornaments– having family or friends sign their names in the sections of the design. The iron-on threads give you a quick decorative thread embellishment.
Materials needed:
• Iron-on 1/8” Ribbon in 6130 Red, 6225 Gold, 6350 Green
• 3” x 4” Kreinik Press Cloth if using a regular iron, or Kreinik adhesive press cloth if using a Clover Mini Iron
• Mini iron or household iron
• 4 1/2” X 4 1/2” white print fabric
• sequins (small) 6 red, 4 green, 4 gold
• sewing machine
• white all-purpose thread
• fabric glue
Instructions:
If using the adhesive press cloth on a mini iron, tear off the backing and apply to the mini iron while cool and unplugged.Turn your iron onto the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
1. Trace and cut out the stocking template. Place template onto doubled white print fabric and cut out.
2. Referring to template for placement, iron the 1/8’ Ribbon; lay the thread at a starting point, cover with the Teflon press cloth, and press for several seconds until the thread adheres. Continue in this way, working the design n sections. Refer to the photo for color location.

4. Cut a piece of 1/8” red Iron-on Ribbon 8 1/2” long, and fold in half.Iron the raw ends to inside of stocking (always use your Teflon press cloth).

Crazy Quilt Candy Cane Ornament

Crazy Quilt Candy Cane Ornament
featuring Kreinik holographic threads
Materials needed:
• candy cane template (below)
• scraps of Christmas fabric
• scrap of ribbon
• Kreinik holographic colors, such as 1/16” Ribbon in 029L, Very Fine #4 Braid 008L, Fine #8 Braid 026, 1/8” Ribbon 001L (we used threads in the Make Mine 3-D: Holographic thread set by Kreinik)
• sewing needle
• neutral colored sewing thread
• sewing machine (optional)
• polyester Fiberfill stuffing or similar
Instructions:
1. Enlarge your candy cane template if desired, or use as is. Trace onto plain paper or cut out of this instruction sheet (add 1/4” on all sides for seam allowance).
2. Sew scraps of fabric together in a random pattern, either by hand or using your sewing machine, and neutral colored thread. Make the pieced fabric as large as your candy cane. Make two, for front and back. Trim to be the size of your template.
3. On the front of each fabric piece, embellish the seams using the Kreinik holographic thread in your choice of stitches. Some suggestions:
• Ruche the holographic ribbon by tapping the thread end to separate the strands - take just one of those strands and gently pull it to create a rick-rack effect. Use that same strand to couch or tack down your rick rack on the fabric.
• Do an enlarged cross stitch - big “Xs” across the seam with one of the Kreinik Braids.
• Work a herringbone stitch with one of the Kreinik Braids.
4. Using a sewing machine or by hand, sew the two candy cane pieces together, right sides facing, leaving an openiing for turning.
5. Turn right-side out, fill with stuffing, then sew opening closed.
6. Add an ornament hanger with your needle and a length of 1/8” holographic ribbon, sewing it into the top of the candy cane. Tie your decorative ribbon or scraps of the holographic thread into a bow where the ornament hanger meets your candy cane.

Embellished Quilt Label
NOTE: this is not a product that is shipped.
Materials needed:- pre-printed fabric quilt label or your own designed label
- Kreinik Iron-on metallic threads: 1/8" Ribbon in your desired colors, and #16 Braid in your desired colors
- Kreinik Adhesive Press Cloth
- Mini Craft Iron or home iron
Instructions:
- The Kreinik Adhesive Press Cloth keeps the adhesive in the thread from making your iron surface sticky. So if your iron isn't already Teflon®-coated, then apply the Adhesive Press Cloth to its surface while it is cool. Kreinik offers these cloths in various sizes to fit popular irons.
- Turn your iron onto the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
- Use the Iron-on threads to decorate your quilt label. In our photograph, we sewed scraps of fabric to the label, and used the threads to decorate the seams, crazy-quilt style. Simply lay the thread at a starting point, cover with your iron, and press for a few seconds until the thread adheres. Continue working your design this way. The thread does not have a right or wrong side, so feel free to fold, curl, shape the thread as desired.
