This is a perfect project if you find yourself with some quiet time one evening this summer. The softness of silk will refresh your fingers and the simple yet texturally interesting stitches will delight your mind. Enchanted Garden
A Kreinik website design by Julia Lucas

Threads and stitches make a design dimensional, filled with texture, and visually interesting. Here, Julia Lucas transforms a simple white piece of 28-count fabric, using a variety of stitches to make flowers that look, well, like real flowers. You will love learning the simple techniques that can be used in any project you are working on. When youstitch a cross stitched flower, for example, think about adding French Knots tothe center. When you stitch a leaf, think about using long stitches to createthe flat, veined look of a real leaf. This is embroidery at its best—and mostfun.

    Materials needed:

    • Kreinik Silk Mori, one 2.5m skein of each: 2013, 2014, 3013, 4163, 4164, 5102, 5104
