This material is great for forming bodies and ribbing very small flies. It's easier to work with than wire, and can be treated with floatant. The 4-stranded braid is less than one half of one millimeter in diameter. A millimeter is 0.06 of an inch; that makes a single strand of this material 0.03. Compared to 6/0 or 8/0 tying thread, that's small! The braid is a true midge tyer's dream.
