Silk is one of the oldest embroidery threads, used in needlework and folk art for centuries. It was commonly used in both American and European samplers. Silk is strong and long-lasting, but it's greatest feature is it's natural sheen. It takes dyes on a deep cellular level, making it more beautiful than cotton or wool.

Kreinik Silk Mori® is a 6-strand spun silk floss. "Spun" means it is made up of short silk fibers; the result is a creamy lustre. The rich colors will spoil your eyes, and it is so soft, it will spoil your fingers. Use it as you would a cotton embroidery floss: separate the strands and recombine as many as you need for your particular stitch on your particular fabric. Experiment with different stitches that show off the lustre. Enjoy a beautiful thread that brings history to life in your needlework.
