Robot Read
a quick-to-stitch bookmark featuring kreinik holographic threads

This fabulous little bookmark features the word “Read” written in
Robotglyphics. Only robots — and little readers — understand! Share
stitched bookmarks with others in the Stitching for Literacy Needle and

Materials needed
• 14-count Provence Lavender Aida (from Wichelt Imports)
• Kreinik holographic metallic threads:
- 1/16” Ribbon in Solar Silver 001L
- Blending Filament in Chromo Gold 002L, Solar Silver 001L
- Fine #8 Braid in Robot Red 003L, Dyelectric Blue 029L, Kinetic Green 008L,
Solar Silver 001L, Orangeruptus 027L
• several needles - beading needle, #22 Tapestry to use with the ribbon, #24 Tapestry to use with the braids
• eight small black seed beads
• felt for backing
Instructions
Cross stitch and backstitching following the color key and the main graph on the PDF. (You will need to download the PDF file.)
Finishing
We cut a piece of purple felt slightly larger than our bookmark, using
pinking shears for a decorative cut edge. Using a running backstitch
and Fine #8 Braid 027L, sew both layers together (your bookmark and the
felt backer). Fringe edges of the Aida cloth if desired.
