Kiss Me Card

Use leftover scraps of paper, wrapping paper, or old Valentine's cards to make a sweet collage. Then embellish with Kreinik Iron-on Thread — the fastest way to get an embroidered look on cards. The metallic adds a touch of sparkle and "spice."

Materials:

• Red cardstock, Beige cardstock
• textured red paper (we used Fibermark Quills Series- Passion Red)
• Love paper (Rainboworld by Masterpiece Studio)
• Metallic Iron-on Threads in Medium #16 Braid 6230 Burnished Gold, 1/8" Ribbon 6130 Red (Kreinik Mfg. Co., Inc.)
• Press Cloth
• Iron or craft iron
• Scissors
• glue or double-sided Treasure Tape™ (Kreinik)

Instructions:
1. First turn on your iron to its highest setting and allow it to heat thoroughly.  Cut a 4"x6" piece of red cardstock for your base. Cut two rectangles from your Love paper and Beige cardstock. Cut one thin strip of textured red paper.  Print your text and cut it out, and cut out a small piece of red cardstock to stack under it.

2. Begin assembling your card. Attach your Love paper and Beige cardstock on your base. 

3. Using your iron and Burnished Gold braid, create a looping design across the seam between the two pieces of paper. To start, lay your thread on your paper, cover with the Teflon Press Cloth, and press with your hot iron for several seconds until the thread adheres; continue working your design this way following your pattern. The Teflon press cloth will keep the heat-activated adhesive in the thread from sticking to your iron.

4. Attach your red textured paper strip across the center of the seam, and center your text and red cardstock at an angle over it.

3. Finish off your card by adding a border of Red iron-on ribbon around your whole design.
