Hello Card

Designed by Amy Law

Here's a cheerful greeting that looks like itcame straight from an expensive boutique or fancy card store - but you made ityourself using inexpensive materials. It's so much more fun to give a card fromthe heart, made with your hands.

  • Blank Aqua Card with White Envelope
  • Aqua Polka-dot print (Scrappin' Creations Power Pad)
  • White cardstock
  • Daisy washers
  • Aqua eyelets (Eye-lets Etc.)
  • Flower punch (McGill Craftivity Giant Flower Punch )
  • Iron-On Threads: #16 Braid 6010 Pearl, 1/8" Ribbon 6010 Pearl
  • household iron or mini iron
  • Teflon Press Cloth

Turn your iron on to the highest heat setting andlet it heat thoroughly.

 1. Cut two strips of Aqua paper, slightly uneven. One should be the lengthof your card, and the other half as long. Punch two flowers from your whitecardstock.

 2. Mount your two Aqua strips on your card. Using your Pearl ribbon, outlinethe sides of both strips. (Lay the thread at a starting point, cover with theTeflon Press Cloth, and press for several seconds until the thread adheres.Continue this way until your design is complete.) Mount your two punched flowersover the strips.

 3. Lay out your eyelets and washers to determine placement (see ourphoto for a guide). Mark the positions of your eyelets with a pencil. Set the eyelets.

 4. Use your Pearl iron-on braid to make "stems" for the eyeletflowers.  Lightly print your greeting in the corner of your card. Followyour outline with the Pearl iron-on braid.
