Glow-in-the-darkthreads are the pinnacle of popularity this month for kids and adults as we falltoward Halloween. Make this funny Halloween-themed bookmark in minutes byprinting our template, then ironing the words "Boo" with Mrs. K'sIron-on Braid in one of our glow-in-the-dark colors. This makes a terrificindoor project for kids when the weather turns ghastly, just make sure an adultis nearby while the hot iron is in use.

Materials needed:

  • the PDF of the bookmark pattern
  • Mrs. K's Iron-on Braid in 6700, 6710*, or 6720
  • household iron or Kreinik Mini Iron
  • 3" x 4" Teflon press cloth

* This is a white-coloredthread, so if you pick this one, print the bookmark pattern on a colored paperlike bright orange.

  1. Turn your iron onto the high heat setting and allow it to heat thoroughly.
  2. Download the PDF and print a copy of our bookmark pattern.
  3. Starting with the lowest "o" lay iron-on thread at a beginning point, and cover with the Teflon press cloth. Touch with the hot iron to tack the thread into place.
  4. Work around the "o" in the same fashion, working one section at a time, and laying the thread over the light "o" print to cover the lines.
  5. When you reach the end, clip the thread and move on to the next letter.
  6. Do the same with the next "o" and the "B"

Finishing ideas:

Make it look like a ghost: With a hole-punch, punch out two eyes at the top. Use fancy-edge scissors to trim the bottom, making it look like the "dress" of a ghost.

Add a tassel: Punch a hole inthe top, attach and knot your extra thread as a tassel.
