Want an old-fashioned, quick-to-stitch project for the holidays? Tokens and Trifles™ sewing cards are truly elegance you can stitch. They are portable, easy to finish, and full of history. We are excited to feature a design using these fun cards on our web site.

Since 1820 perforated paper or Bristol Board has been a favorite among stitchers for its ease of use and limited requirements for project finishing. It was used extensively during the Victorian era and was especially popular for bookmarks, tokens of affection and small trifles sold at charity bazaars as well as being given as gifts. This style of finely perforated sewing card allowed for creative use by the stitcher and projects could be made up quickly and easily. It featured not only evenly spaced and easy-to-see holes for perfect stitching but a decorative border and a lovely finished edge for producing wonderful heirloom projects.

Tokens and Trifles™ are suitable for cross stitch, ribbon embroidery, and beading. Embroider in the 20-count perforated center and/or embellish the edge for an easy and fast project. Kreinik Very Fine #4 Braid works perfect on the cards. Perhaps you’ll fall in love with the possibilities like we did. Try this easy ornament to get started on a fun and different creative outlet for your stitching passion.
