Cute as a Button Scrapbook Page
Designed by: Amy Law
Skill level: beginner
Materials needed:
-
white and blue cardstock
-
4 shades of coordinating cardstock, cut into circles 1.75” punch
-
Font Diner computer font
-
Button charm Bisous paper (P029 candy stripe and plaid)
-
Kreinik Iron-on #16 Braid and 1/8” ribbon in color 6500
-
Kreinik Teflon press cloth
-
Mini iron or household iron
Instructions:
-
Turn your iron onto the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
-
To make the buttons: Punch four card stock circles and trace a circle around the edge of each, about 1/8 inch. Mark four small dots in the center of each. Embellish these marks with your iron-on threads.
Note: to use Iron-on threads, lay your thread at a starting point, cover it with the Teflon press cloth, then press for several seconds with the hot iron until the thread adheres. Continue this way, working your design in sections. The Teflon keeps the adhesive in the thread from sticking to your iron.
To attach charm:
-
Cut a short length of Iron-on thread. Begin embellishing your page; we made loops across the plaid section of our paper.
-
When you reach the spot where you want to attach the charm, slide the charm onto the end of your thread. Make sure it is facing up! Continue ironing your thread as before.
