You can make beautiful, sparkly scrapbook pages without messy glue or glitter. This scrapbook page shows you how to create a fun, easy and good-looking page with Mrs. K's Dimensional Threads, micro beads and Treasure It tape. It's so beautiful, you can frame it for a special wall decoration.
Treasure Tape is heavy-duty double-sided tape with a red liner. Peel back the red liner to expose the clear tape. You may have seen it featured on DIY and HGTV. You can use it everywhere, and it's acid-free (CK Approved!). Find lots of projects using the tape and beadlets onwww.treasureitcrafts.com or www.kreinik.com.
Kreinik metallic threads come in 150+ colors, so there's always a color to match your theme. Because these are threads, or strings, you get the metallic look without having to use messy glitter. You can sew with them, tie, wrap, twist, braid, and tape them.
Materials needed:
-
12x12 sheet, 4x6 piece coordinating paper (we used FiberMark brand)
-
1 roll of 1/4" Treasure Tape Trim
-
Threads: 1 each of Kreinik metallic threads 032 Pearl White, 087C Meadow Grass Light Green, 101 Silver Platinum, 002 Gold
-
Diamond Beadlets®
-
shallow pan or tray
Instructions:
Use pieces of your Treasure Tape as the adhesive to attach papers and photos throughout.
1. Attach scraps of coordinating papers to your background paper in any position. This is a geometric-based design, using squares of paper to complement the photos squares, but that doesn?t mean you have to
keep things in straight lines; put your scraps on an angle if you so desire!
2. Lay strips of Treasure Tape horizontally on your background paper, especially at the top, bottom and then randomly around the page. You can lay strips side-by-side to create wider areas of tape.
3. Remove the red liner to expose the sticky areas, and decorate the tape with the metallic threads. Make soft curves, curly q's, waves, straight lines, and more
4. When thread decorating is complete, pour Diamond Beadlets on topto fully cover remaining sticky areas.
5. Finally, attach your photos on the page in a desired position. Later you can add a headline or copy if desired.
