Reflections

Blackwork has been around for many centuries (think of the embroidered cuffs on Medieval clothing) and remains just as popular today. With this design, we bring blackwork back into our century by using colorful metallic threads. Pam Kellogg designed this project with Kreinik’s Vintage colors, which have a subtle, antiqued look. You'll get old-world charm, with the ease of modern, convenient materials.

Materials:

• Kreinik Very Fine (#4) Braid 002V, 150V, 152V, 022

• Kreinik Blending Filament 052HL

• DMC embroidery floss 319, 320, 367, 368, 369, 433, 434, 435, 436, 801, 890, 3371

• 28-ct Apricot Linen from Zweigart, about 10” x 10” piece

Each square on the chart equals two fabric threads. Cross stitch this design over two threads using two strands of floss or one strand of Braid according to the color key.
