| Suidado de Carne
This latin-style dish is scrumptious and best served over a bed of rice.
Ingredients:
- 6 thinly-sliced pieces of steak
- 1 chopped tomato
- 6 medium potatoes sliced into disk shape, ½ inch heights
- 6 scallions
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tsp. Adobo seasoning
- 2 packets Sasson seasoning
- ¼ tsp. Garlic powder
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Method:
- In a medium crock pan, heat oil until hot.
- Add scallions and onions. Sautee until tender.
- Add tomato and sautee for one minute.
- Add thin steaks, water, Adobo, Sasson, and Garlic. Let cook for one minute.
- Layer sliced potatoes and top with cilantro. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, turn heat down to medium-low heat and cook for 45 minutes.
- Combine cornstarch with ¼ cup cold water and mix until dissolved. Add this mixture to the Suidado. Allow to stand for five minutes to thicken.
