Suidado de Carne
This latin-style dish is scrumptious and best served over a bed of rice.

Ingredients:

  • 6 thinly-sliced pieces of steak
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 6 medium potatoes sliced into disk shape, ½ inch heights
  • 6 scallions
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp. Adobo seasoning
  • 2 packets Sasson seasoning
  • ¼ tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Method:

    1. In a medium crock pan, heat oil until hot.
    2. Add scallions and onions. Sautee until tender.
    3. Add tomato and sautee for one minute.
    4. Add thin steaks, water, Adobo, Sasson, and Garlic. Let cook for one minute.
    5. Layer sliced potatoes and top with cilantro.  Bring to a boil.
    6. Once boiling, turn heat down to medium-low heat and cook for 45 minutes.
    7. Combine cornstarch with ¼ cup cold water and mix until dissolved. Add this mixture to the Suidado. Allow to stand for five minutes to thicken.
