In Full Bloom

I was always one to think that to make any significant changes in my life or the lives of those I loved I would have to do some pretty amazing things. What does it take to have a great marriage; respect of parents & siblings; and strong friendships? How will I ever get back to my ideal weight, to seeing to it that my childhood dreams come true, to saving the world from greenhouse gases? Like most people, I have so many things I want to accomplish and impacts I want to make. Looking at them as a whole, though, I quickly become overwhelmed. To set out and achieve all I dream of will require so many sacrifices, so many actions, and oh so much time. How will I ever get them all done as quickly as possible? This question is one that I have overanalyzed all of my life.

So, I started to think of all the things I wanted to accomplish in my life and decided to take them one step at a time. Small actions that add up to big results are the ones that can really shape life in a significant way. People don’t remember others for that one smile. They remember them for a series of many smiles over the course of a lifetime. Building a great marriage, friendship, and other relationship is often the result of a series of loving acts. Achieving weight loss, career, & personal goals blossoms from all of those small steps taken to reach them.

Since taking action, I now spend my days taking lots of little steps instead of overanalyzing how to make giant leaps. Life is a journey, so why look for shortcuts? Enjoy each step and its effect as it blossoms into a worthy greatness.

To celebrate the full bloom of life, Amy Law has designed a beautiful sampler: Blossom Sampler.
