Arlene has been a maker of textiles for the past 30 years. The world of fine arts, especially that of painting, has been a constant source of inspiration for her ongoing love affair with the ever-changing richness of fiber's vast array of color and texture. For the past 25 years, she has taught numerous classes in all forms of textile media. She is currently teaching accessory design classes for hand knitters and crocheters at Parsons School of Design, where she has been a faculty member for 24 years. Most recently, an abstract embroidery she completed has been chosen for and given honorable mention in an exhibition curated by Matilda McQuaid (Exhibitions Curator and Head of Textiles at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum). This exhibition was created by members of the Textile Study Group of New York. |
