Gwen Blakley Kinsler, a talented crochet designer and one of the original founders of the Crochet Guild of America, shared this story about a fun crochet project in her local Illinois community:
"I wanted to update you one a new design I made using Kreinik threads," Gwen wrote to us. "It is called "Heartrock Hotel" and it is a covered rock that looks like a heart with circles that look like valves (hotel rooms) and one large one which is the "penthouse." In the penthouse rests a little heart-shaped rock also covered in Kreinik. I did it for my CGOA Chapter Challenge in August 2007 and won third prize."
"Then I found a juried exhibit, "The Look of Love,' and I entered it. It was accepted and the only crochet in the 2-D, 3-D international show. It got a mention and photo about the exhibit in the local paper also."
Congratulations Gwen, and thanks for sharing!
