Pretty Pumpkin Trick or Treat Bag

Materials:

Purple gift bag (or any desired color)
Fibermark orange paper (Cobblestone series, Tangerine)
Gold star paper (Die Cuts with a View Specialty Mat Stacks)
Yellow-gold fabric
Orange-burgundy Batik fabric
Vintage Finds- orange cabochons
Kreinik 1/8" Ribbon 005 Black
Kreinik #12 Braid 051F Tangerine, 052F Grapefruit
Ribbon- any brand, matching color
2 8" x 10" Treasure Tape sheets
Diamond Beadlets
Tracing Paper
Light colored cardstock
Tools: scissors, glue stick, pencil, shallow pan or tray

Instructions:

First print your pumpkin template on cardstock and cut it out. You can enlarge it or make it smaller depending on the size of your bag. Using the tracing paper, trace the lines of the template and cut out each piece to make a pattern. Use these pattern pieces to cut out your fabric and paper pieces- alternate fabrics for the pumpkin's sections, black for the stem, and Tangerine paper for the top.
Peel back the white liner on one sheet of Treasure Tape. Place your pumpkin template, printed side down, on the tape. Replace your liner and cut out your pumpkin leaving 1/8" of tape around the edges. Peel back the red liner on the front of your template and place your fabric and paper pieces in the right spots. Use your fingers to smooth out any air pockets- don't worry if your pieces overlap slightly or don't meet at the edges!
Next, peel back the white liner on your second piece of Treasure Tape. Place your pumpkin fabric side down on the tape and replace the liner. Cut your pumpkin out, leaving the same 1/8" border as before.
Remove the white liner from the back, and use extra pieces of tape to adhere the pumpkin to your gift bag. Use your fingers to smooth out any air pockets and firmly attach the pumpkin.
Peel back the red liner on your pumpkin and begin embellishing! Use the Black ribbon to outline the edges of all your fabric and paper pieces- this will cover any places where your pieces did not meet evenly. Next, add an outline of Grapefruit thread inside each of the sections.
Embellish your pumpkin sections with the Vintage Find cabochons place them far enough apart to embellish with thread between them. Use the Tangerine braid to add swirls and curls to the design. When finished, press the threads firmly into the tape (using your discarded red liner so your fingers don't stick to the tape).
Place your bag in a shallow tray or ziplock bag and pour Diamond Beadlets over the exposed tape areas. Swirl with your fingers to cover fully and tap to remove excess beadlets.
Finish your bag by punching two holes above the pumpkin. Tie your ribbon through the holes and make a bow.
