Make a colorful Halloween invitation or greeting card with your scraps of fabric and paper, and Kreinik Iron-on thread. You get the look of embroidery, but without stitching. No skills required!

Materials:

• Foundations Paper Inc. Black cards
• Fibermark Paper- Cobblestone series, Tangerine
• Basic Grey- Fruitcake, Wreath/Sugarcookie
• Dark Green cardstock
• Silver star fabric
• Pumpkin fabric
• Cream letter fabric
• Moon charm
• Kreinik Iron-On 1/8" Ribbon 6300 Meadow
• Kreinik Iron-On #8 Braid 6040 Cast Iron
• Tools: Iron, teflon presscloth, scissors, glue or Treasure Tape

Instructions:

• First turn your iron on to its highest setting and allow it to heat up.  Then cut out your pieces. Cut a thin strip of each of your papers, cardstock, and fabrics to the same length and varying widths.
• Arrange your strips so that they cover the whole card, then begin gluing them down.  When finished gluing, use your iron to make a border around the outside of your design with Meadow ribbon. Lay the thread at a starting point, cover with the Teflon Press Cloth, then press for several seconds until the thread adheres. Outline the edges between your strips as well. Make a zig-zag design with your Cast Iron braid across the top of your green cardstock strip.
• Next, add a third line of ribbon across the middle of your green cardstock strip, with a bow in the middle.  Start at the edge of your design and iron towards the middle of your card, stopping in the middle and leaving about a 5" tail of thread when you trim your end. 
• Repeat on the other side of your card so that you have two ends of thread in the middle to tie together.  Slide your charm over one of your ribbon ends, then tie a bow. (TIP: To shape your bow, hold your iron near the ribbon to heat it slightly, while forming the loops into the desired shape.  Tack down the ends of your bow on either side of the card.
• Write the word "Halloween" across the bottom section of your card in Cast Iron braid.  (Sketch the letters lightly with a pencil first if necessary.)
