Let your child make a Halloween picture to decorate a trick-or-treat bag. Embellish the artwork with beads, tape and thread, and you’ll have a one-of-a-kind treasure!
Materials needed:
- Medium or large orange gift bag
- Your child's artwork, photocopied to fit on the front of your gift bag
- Diamond Beadlets®
- Kreinik Tapestry #12 Braid 012 Purple, 005 Black, 101 Platinum, 051F Tangerine (or colors to match your picture)
- Two 8" x 10" Treasure Tape sheets
- Shallow pan or tray
Instructions:
- Cut one Treasure Tape sheet to fit the size of your artwork. Remove its white liner and place on top of your picture. Remove the red liner to expose the sticky part.
- Begin thread embellishing by laying the #12 Braid on parts of your design. For example, write ‘Trick or Treat’ in purple #12 Braid if you have room. Make a decorative border with the 051F Tangerine color. Color the witch’s hair in 005 Black, and outline the clouds in 101 Platinum.
- When embellishing is complete, lay the artwork in a shallow pan and cover all remaining sticky areas with Diamond Beadlets®.
- Cut another Treasure Tape sheet to fit your artwork. Remove the white backing and place on the back of your embellished artwork. Remove the red liner to expose the sticky part, and adhere to your gift bag.
