Prettying
Up
As
a teenager, I had this favorite, pretty spot in my backyard where I
would sit and try to figure out life. Amidst the decorative rocks,
wild underbrush, and occasional dandelions, I would swing to the
creaking rhythm of worn wood pressing against metal brackets,
listening to the high-pitched chirps of excited birds overhead. I
visited that swing most every weather-agreeable day with my journal
and its accompanying sparkly, blue pen. Scrolling my day’s thoughts
and feelings onto the confetti pages of my journal with the smooth tip
of my glittery pen was a much anticipated retreat for me every
afternoon. The fun, pretty paper and pen gave birth to happy thoughts.
Pretty. Just seeing the word makes me smile. Pretty flowers,
pretty shirt, pretty spring day… Pretty is a happy word. The word
delivers a powerful connotation—something to be admired and enjoyed.
If given the opportunity, who wouldn’t want to make everything around
her pretty?
In
this issue of A Personal Touch we have rounded up the prettiest
projects to share with you so that you, too, can admire and enjoy your
surroundings. From charming door hangings to sparkly headbands to

Enjoy,
Dennise
