Thinking of You Card

Take a purchased mini stocking from felt to fabulous by embellishing with iron-on threads. You can write your name, make designs, anything! Use these mini stockings as party favors, to hold silverware for a dining setting, or on your tree.

Materials needed:

Light pink card, Dark pink envelope (JoAnn Craft Essentials,Textured Card Variety pack)
Library Pocket & Card (Foundations Paper Inc.)
Paper:

Polka Dot, Scrappin' Creations Power Pad
Caramel Rose Stripe (Back) and Smell The Roses (Back), Bisous
Black paper, Cream paper
Black stripe paper, Die Cuts with a View Specialty Mat Stacks, Designer Premium Silver/Gold Papers

Cardstock: Juneberry, Bazill Basics
Font- Thumping
Pink pencil or marker
Tokens & Trifles Sewing card: Petals rectangle

Finished Size: 4.5" x5.75"

Instructions:

First, line the inside of your Library pocket with polka dot paper. Cover the top half of your card with the Smell the Roses print paper. Mount your pocket on the front of your card.
Apply strips of 1/2" Treasure Trim across your card, over your Library pocket and the end of your Roses paper. Peel back red liner from the strip and add a strip of Juneberry cardstock so that a tiny strip of tape shows above and below. Center a strip of Caramel Rose Stripe paper on top of the cardstock and apply a strip of 1/8" Treasure Trim to the center. Peel back the red liner and embellish with Vintage Burgundy Ribbon. Embellish the edges of the bottom tape strip with Gold Braid.
Cut two small bow shapes from your Smell the Roses paper and Caramel Stripe paper, and layer them in the center of your embellished band, centered over your pocket.
Begin to embellish your Sewing Card: Thread your needle with a 16" length of the Black Braid. Leaving a 3/4" tail at the back of your card, bring the needle up through the center of one of the corner scallop designs. Stitch from the center to each of the five large holes in the scallop. Cut thread, leaving a 3/4" tail. Secure both ends of the thread to the back of the card with tape. Skip one scallop and begin sewing the next. Continue until your entire card is embellished.
Arrange your striped paper and printed message on the card. Use a pink pen to fill in some of the curls in the text. When finished, mount your sewing card on a piece of Caramel Stripe paper, and insert it in your Library Pocket.
