Wrapping Paper Card

Designed by: Amy Law
Skill level: beginner

What a fun way to use scraps of wrapping paper leftover from years past. Attach it to a colorful blank piece of cardstock, then embellish it with metallic threads and Diamond Beadlets.

Materials needed:

  • scraps of wrapping paper
  • blue cardstock (or your choice of colors), to make a small card
  • matching envelope
  • 4" x 6" piece of Treasure Tape
  • Diamond Beadlets™
  • Kreinik 1/8" ribbon in 033 Royal Blue
  • Kreinik #12 Braid in 033 Royal blue, 002J Japan Gold, 008C Green Cord

Instructions:

  • Using a glue stick or pieces of Treasure Tape, attach the scrap of wrapping paper to the cardstock. We cut the paper 1/2" smaller than the cardstock, then centered it on the front.
  • Cut the Treasure Tape to be 1/4" smaller than your wrapping paper piece. Lay the Treasure Tape centered on top. Remove the red liner to expose the top sticky part.
  • Lay the metallic ribbon along the edge of the tape. Press down to make sure it adheres and lays flat.
  • Decorate other areas with the metallic braid.
  • When thread decorating is complete, lay the card in a shallow pan and sprinkle remaining sticky areas with Diamond Beadlets.
