Act Of Kindness Card

Materials needed:

• Kreinik Iron-on Ribbon in 6120 pink and 6225 gold 
• Iron or Clover Mini Iron 
• Kreinik Teflon Press Cloth 
• Burgundy card stock: 5 1/2” x 11”, 1 1/2” x 3 3/4”, 2 1/2” square 
• Gold pearl text 1 3/4” x 4” 
• Pink iridescent card stock: 1 7/8” x 4 1/8” 
• Gold pigment or clear embossing ink 
• Stampendous® Pearlustre Moonstone Embossing Powder #EP223 
• Hero Arts stamp #F2377 “Act of Kindness” 
• Magenta stamp #21.063.I “Vase” 
• Fiskars® paper trimmer with cut and score blades 
• Scissors, 3D foam tape, glue stick/double sided tape, cardboard, ruler, straight pin, toothbrush

Instructions:

This card may be created as a top or a side fold. Turn iron on to highest setting and allow it to heat thoroughly.

1. Cut papers to size listed under Materials.

2. Score and fold 5 1/2" x 11" card base in half to 5 1/2" square. Set aside.

3. Ink "Act of Kindness" stamp with gold pigment or clear embossing ink. Stamp onto 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" burgundy card stock. Apply Moonstone embossing powder, tap off excess and return to container. Heat with an embossing heat tool.

4. Layer embossed greeting to center of gold pearl text followed by iridescent cardstock. Adhere panel to card front 3/8" from right edge; center vertically.

5. Stamp and emboss "Vase" image onto 2 1/2" burgundy square as in Step 3.

6. Cut vase image out leaving a slight border. Apply 3D foam tape to the back at each side. Set aside.

7. To create foliage, cut gold braid to 1 1/2", 3" and pink to 2", 2 1/2", and 3 1/2".

8. Separate fibers on one end of each piece with a straight pin by placing into braid and combing outwards. Continue combing with the pin or an old toothbrush. Leave approximately 1" length of thread that has not been separated.

9. Open folded card so that you are working on one panel only. Use a scrap of cardboard underneath your piece on your ironing surface.

10. Lay out the foliage design. Once you have determined the placement; place the bottom piece onto card stock. Cover with the Teflon press cloth; press with iron on high setting for 15 to 30 seconds. Work with one piece at a time in layers from the bottom to the top.

11. Remove liner from tape on embossed vase. Attach over top of flat braid pieces.
