Hardanger Tree Ornament

Designed by Ruth Hanke of Hanky Panky Designs

When we asked designer Ruth Hanke to create a special Hardanger ornament for our web site visitors, she made two-a sweet Angel, and this classic tree. Made with two types of Kreinik silk threads, they will become instant heirlooms.

Materials needed:

• two 2.5m skeins Kreinik Silk Mori 4063 Medium Holly
• one spool Kreinik Silk Bella in 1117 Dark Christmas Red, 2014 Medium Gold, 4073 Light Dusty Green
• 6-inch square of white 24-count Congress Cloth
• #24, #26 Tapestry needles
• two 2mm white beads *
• one large Mother of Pearl star *
• 4-inches of fine gold wire *
• tacky glue, Fray Check", small sharp-pointed scissors *
